It’s that end‑of‑year ritual again — a short pause to look back at what actually happened, what broke, and what was surprisingly useful.

Wow, that's quite a headline for a 30-something to write, right? But the very real side effect of being a weird kid and starting freelancing when I was on 8th grade is that it's now just over 20 years since I finished my first paid website projects.

I've made it a tradition to post something about the last year just after the New Year's, so here's another look back at the last 12 months. Next Tuesday, we'll be back to the regularly scheduled programming!

2022 is over, and it's high time to write the annual Year Review again. The ongoing pandemic and the 3rd World War on my doorstep have made me a little bit cynical, but in all fairness, the year was not all bad.

Well, it's been a year. It certainly does not feel like it has been a whole 12 months since I last wrote one of these, you know?

Like is almost customary at this point in the year, I decided to take a look at 2020 - which goals I had set for myself if I hit them, and what happened on koskila.net during the year. And like last year, I thought I'd set myself a few new goals!

When I started this blog in 2015 as a place to stash my, eh, thoughtful workarounds , I didn't think I'd ever hit 200 live articles (with another hundred still in draft mode). Or that I'd get half a million people reading them in a year!
